Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. COMPANY
2018“COMPANY” addresses trends in adaptive reuse architecture, incorporating magical realism, dark humor, and 1920s and ‘30s–era film scores. Filmed in a former stove factory turned loft apartment complex in Richmond, Virginia, the project imagines that the building is converting its inhabitants into human-industrial beings. The video follows a community of stove-people with vintage stove legs for feet and hands as they enact a choreography of re-use across a series of vignettes.
