Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

I approach my projects as an expanded form of ventriloquism. I make architecture, historical objects, and photographs speak and perform across video installation, film, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and performance. My moving image work weaves storyboarding, scripting, and documentary, fiction, and experimental filmmaking techniques into installations that unfold associatively.

My recent work mines the histories of former industrial sites-cum-residential neighborhoods, twisting the past into fantastical re-imaginings of the present and future.

I return again and again to the moving image for its particular ability to jump between different registers of scale and perspective. I’m invested in a practice of sculptural and performative videomaking that remaps an embodied relationship to space, history, and time.
