The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

“NO 139 - GETTING OUT OF BED” WAS ORIGINALLY CONCEPTUALIZED AS A 3 CHANNEL INSTALLATION BUT IS CURRENTLY COMPILED INTO A SINGLE VIDEO PROJECTION OR MONITOR. IT DECONSTRUCTS MY PERSONAL BOUTS OF LETHARGY, DEPRESSION AND ANALYZES THE UNDERLYING STRUCTURES THAT COMPRISES MY INABILITY TO, IN A SENSE, “GET OUT OF BED.” CONSISTING OF FOUND FOOTAGE, SHOT FOOTAGE AND TEXT; THREE VIDEOS PLAY ATOP A DISORGANIZED DESKTOP FULL OF IMAGES AND OPEN BROWSERS. CRITICAL OF THE STRESS WE CONDITION OURSELVES TO OPERATE UNDER, THE EXCESS ASSORTMENT OF MEDIA AND INFORMATION CAN BURDEN OUR ABILITY TO FUNCTION.
