Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

My work is an exploration of color relationships through the use of the black figure and black representaion. The figures in my work are representations of people from the black diaspora at large. In my work I aim to use color, nature, and light to explore topics surrounding the ideas of a black utopia. My work can be thought of as afro-futuristic as it is my idea of what a tommorow could look or feel like. I also aim to use color realtionships and portraiture to explore black identity and the feelings that arise navigating through this world in a black body.
