Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
My practice engages texture, gestural markings, and grids to reference geographic and internalized terrains. Conceptually, my use of materials is informed by migration and Puerto Rican diasporic consciousness in the wake of Operation Bootstrap. I am interested in the grid as a political formation, and its impact on geography (both real and imagined), art history, and the concept of modernity.
The narratives in my work, infused with the folklore, political histories, and terrains of my Puerto Rican heritage, serve as a vital link to global decolonial processes. My practice involves a continuous exploration of the intersections among history, memory, and environmental landscapes, where traces of the past can be used to create a liberatory present.
