Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
My work delves into the intricate alchemy of moving images and sound, traversing a wide spectrum of formats from analog film to digital media, embracing both low-resolution textures and high-definition clarity. I employ a multidisciplinary approach, blending 16mm film, found imagery, performance art, and immersive installations to expand the boundaries of traditional cinema. At the heart of my practice lies an unwavering fascination with contemporary socio-political contexts, investigating how identities are constructed through objects, spaces, displacement, and inherited silence.
I am particularly drawn to marginalized narratives—stories that are forgotten, fragmented, or suppressed—and explore these through layered imagery, soundscapes, and performative interventions. Analog textures and experimental formats allow me to evoke memory's elusive nature, challenge archival authority, and highlight the unseen emotional, historical, and political forces shaping our lives.
As a Chinese-born, Brooklyn-based artist, my work fluidly navigates between fiction and non-fiction, poetic expression, and documentary exploration. By tracing connections across continents, generations, and languages, I interrogate themes such as globalization, urban transformation, and the ongoing impact of colonial violence. For me, engaging with visual art is analogous to journeying through a nonlinear, fragmented tunnel, fundamentally redefining how we perceive and interact with narratives, memory, and identity.
