Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

My work delves into the intricate alchemy of moving images and sound across a wide spectrum of formats, from analogue film to digital, and from low resolution to 4K. I embrace the transformative power of visual narrative, employing a multidisciplinary approach that melds 16mm film, found images, performance art, and immersive installations as expanded cinema. At the core of my artistic exploration is an unwavering fascination with the people, spaces, and objects within contemporary life and socio-political contexts. I seek to unravel the intricate tapestry of human experience within the ever-evolving modern landscape. For me, the act of watching a video is analogous to driving through a long tunnel—a linear journey accompanied by sound and moving images. My aim is to metamorphose this experience into something more radical, non-linear, fragmented, and experimental, fundamentally redefining the way we engage with and perceive visual art.
