Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

Generative relationships between color and form propel my site-responsive work in moving image, performance, installation, and photography. My analog/digital process plays with the call and response of color and light, form and site, activating a continuum of shifting chroma and luminous temporary geometries in which color and form are inseparable, reciprocal correlatives. During my most recent residency at LMCC’s Art Center at Governor’s Island, I investigated a variety of wave behaviors in Thinktank, a video project connecting my work in luminous geometry with fluid forms resulting from the direct interaction between light and water. My current multimedia project, Observer Effect, teases out the frame-by-frame nature of moving image production and playback, balancing our ability to perceive a series of still images as continuous motion with our ability to infer movement and temporal-spatial context from still images.
