Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Land-escapes
I make physcial and virtual paintings which merge landscape and abstraction. Vibrant color, dense layers, scale shifts and gesture coalesce in paint, mixed reality, and works on paper.
Akin to Jane Bennett's theory of "vibrant materiality", the paintings and virtual environments are as alive as real world spaces. My studio process relies heavily on play, while always looking to the observable world for grounding. Navigating a digitized plugged in world is complex and full of apprehension and possibility. I create immersive spaces reflecting these qualities without pushing viewers or participants towards a particular path.
Travel fuels my work. I capture as mucha s possible during short "escapes from reality". How can the breaks from the everyday translate to a changed reality? How can we hold onto that time when it is accessile only through a screen or memory? I'm racing to document the world in real time, racing to show my children the beauty of the world as it still is right now.
