Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
When I was around five, I first saw a reproduction of a detail from Giotto’s Kiss of Judas and I kept going back to it. Even at a young age, it was the aged physicality of the surface, the paint application, the magic of the detail defining the whole, the layering of color with time and the rather brutish beautifulness of the image that made it compelling and jarring at the same time. These notions have always played in my background.
My drawings and sculptural paintings act as found mementos, referencing art historical memories or reminiscence of place. Using the tropes of artifact or souvenir, there is a somewhat askew anchor to familiarity. Connecting to the past can bring a sense of recognition but can also disturb, amuse, challenge perceptions, and bring us to the place of comfort in memory, and beauty in loss.
