Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

RESUME
Alex Ito (b. 1991, Los Angeles) is an artist, curator and writer based in Queens, New York. Ito's practice reframes visual cultures of violence at the intersection of war, industrialization and popular culture. His work reimagines the relationships between histories and the material world to interrogate rhetorics of waste and fear. Through an interdisciplinary practice using sculpture, assemblage, and video, Ito proposes how we can recognize precarious frameworks of life in a world of uncertainty and potential. He has exhibited in various domestic and international exhibitions and has published written work with Affidavit, Silica Mag, and Artsy. Ito is the Director of Chen's, a Brooklyn project space co-organized with Howie Chen.
