The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

RESUME

Renée Valenti is a multidisciplinary artist whose studio practice includes painting, photography, and writing. Most recently, she has been painting saturated abstract paintings that draw from the figure and another body of work that focuses on interior spaces and objects from her home. Valenti has exhibited at venues in the U.S. such as The Sarah Ball Allis Art Museum (the renamed Charles Allis Art Museum), Anita Rogers Gallery, The Whitney Museum, and The Amarillo Museum of Art. In 2019, Valenti curated and organized DISARM, a group show and benefit for Gays Against Guns, held at Automatic Studios in DUMBO. She received a grant from the Mayer Foundation for a photo project along Route 66 and has been an artist in residence at Main Street Arts and Lacawac Artist Residency. In 2022, she was included in the White Columns Curated Artist Registry, White Columns, New York. Born in New Haven, CT, Valenti received an MFA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BFA from Pratt Institute. Valenti is an Adjunct Professor at Capital Community College in CT and has held teaching positions at Quinnipiac University in Rowan College. She lives and works in Philadelphia.
