Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

RESUME

Rachel Jeffers’s paintings of everyday domestic objects are built through a continual process of revision, as she looks for the moment when color, form, and atmosphere converge to become something unexpected. She holds an MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art’s Mount Royal School of Art and a BFA from Columbus College of Art and Design. She studied with Turps Correspondence Course from 2019-2023, and is now a course mentor. Recent exhibitions include a solo show at Shockoe Artspace in Richmond, VA, and group exhibitions at Ceres Gallery in New York, NY, and Stay Home Gallery in Paris, TN. Rachel is a member of Zeuxis, a collective of still life painters based in New York. She serves on the editorial team for Passing Notes, a journal for artists who write that she cofounded in 2021. She lives in Richmond, Virginia.
