Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

RESUME

Mirjana Ciric

BIO

Mirjana Ciric is a Bosnian born artist who has lived and worked in New York City since 1994.

Mirjana received her bachelor’s degree in Physics at the University of Sarajevo, then studied ceramics under Richard Kiaergaard in Copenhagen, Denmark from 1984 to 1985.

From 1985 to 1989 she completed the studio program in painting, and then a one-year graduate program at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

From 2006 until 2017 she showed her work with Rose Burlingham Projects in New York City in several solo shows as well as two-person shows. Her installations always combine 2D and 3D objects (most often ceramic sculptures and collaged paintings) that interact through shapes, colors, and lines.

Her most recent solo exhibition was an installation at The Shed in Brooklyn in 2018.

She has also participated in different group shows in New York and abroad (most recently in Zürcher Salons, in 2023 and 2024, at Zürcher Gallery in New York) as well as in several online exhibitions during the last few years.
