The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

RESUME

Mitchell Barton is an artist working in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. He received a BFA from Brigham Young University in 2017 and works primarily with photography and websites. His work has been shown in galleries and online by Tiger Strikes Asteroid, Self Publish Be Happy, CUAC, The Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, Der Grief, Light Factory, and others. In 2018, he had a solo exhibition at Tropical Contemporary in Eugene, Oregon titled “Freestylez”. In 2019, he was included in the publication "n e w f l e s h" published by Gnomic Book and curated by Efrem Zelony-Mindell. That same year, he also self-published "Freestylez." In 2020, he had a solo exhibition “A Concert” at Arcade On Stadium in Provo, UT, USA. In 2021 he was selected as a fellow for the annual Utah Arts Fellowship. In early 2022, he released another self-published book — “Three Basketball Games”. He will be a Localhost Gallery resident in late 2022. He also has run a small gallery space in his laundry room called “Washer / Dryer Projects” since 2018.
