Artist Registry


The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

Vestiges

Drawing from research on early computer chip manufacturing, Vestiges tells the story of a woman who finds an archive of bizarre photographs and begins to be haunted by its images. The film uses similar formal structures as Chris Marker's La Jeteé, using mostly still images to explore ideas of collective memory and the exploitation of women's, and in particular women of colors', labor.

A woman builds a large battery atop a hill outside of the Tesla Gigafactory in Sparks, Nevada. The battery is made using copper and zinc plates, and cotton cloth soaked in blood.

Performing Work Outside of the Amazon Distribution Center in Staten Island, NY

2019
In this video, a person wearing a white suit performs an undefined ritual in front of a group of workers in blue hoodies. Another figure approaches on a raft. The figure disembarks the raft and walks past the group participating in the ritual. After the figure passes, the person in white pulls a mask off of one of the workers in a blue hoodie in front of her. She realizes the bodies are empty. She smiles.
