Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

A Rift
Granular synthesis of cello, cooing, and hippo recoding samples from cello.org and freesound.org. This work is part of a larger project - a sonic playground. Sound Playground is for people of all ages and abilities (varying motor and seeing skills) to create sonic compositions in real time, alone or collectively. Some objects will just be playing existing compositions, like this one shown here, but these can be added and mixed. I would like to map the sound modulation to movement or to the amount of light that enters the object (motion and light sensors).Added on: July 28, 2021

Rift composition 3. Cello and cooing.
Granular synthesis of cello, cooing, and hippo recording samples from cello.org and freesound.org. The sound sculpture is tactile and outputs more sound if the object is moved and more light is let in. This work is part of a larger project - a sonic playground. Sound Playground is for people of all ages and abilities (varying motor and seeing skills) to create sonic compositions in real time, alone or collectively. Some objects will just be playing existing compositions, like this one shown here, but these can be added and mixed. Work Is ____
This project is a playful inquiry into what work is. I learned Python in Sam Lavigne’s class Detourning the Web in 2018 at NYU’s ITP during my graduate studies. I used Python to scrape the results of the search terms from a to z that followed the string "work is ____". I superimposed the resulting phrases on top of a video collage I put together from watermarked Shutterstock footage. I decided to leave the watermark in order to reveal that this footage, just like the phrases, is scraped and assembled content from the internet. This particular project was inspired by Sam Lavigne’s Why Do We Work So Hard and Ellen Nichols’ The Answer Is, who is a friend and fellow alum from Detourning the Web. It was Ellen’s code that I reworked for this project.Added on: July 28, 2021
Granular Synthesis of Nina Simone
In 2018 I made a granular synthesis of Nina Simone's haunting "Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair" making it even more haunting! I also made this cover art by adding repetitive pattern i created on top of Charles “Teenie” Harris' Double exposure of Nina Simone on piano, and guitar player, performing on stage of Hilton Hotel ballroom (December 1968 - January 1969).Added on: July 28, 2021
