STATEMENT OF WORK

"Laura Ingalls in walnut Grove, MN"

by Yoichiro Yoda

A number of years ago, after watching Little House on The Prairie from time to time, I found out that Laura Ingalls was a real person and that the TV show was loosely based on her "Little House" book series.

Whenever I start a new painting series, I can't paint unless I see the subject matter with my own eyes, so in 2024, I went to see Walnut Grove, Minnesota(where the Ingalls family lived from 1974 -1879). It was a life changing experience. At that point in time, as an artist, I was searching for something and I found it in Walnut Grove.

Walnut Grove has a wonderful Laura Ingalls wilder Museum , Plum Creek, and every summer in a huge outdoor theatre, the local townspeople put on the amazing Walnut Grove Laura Ingalls Pageant.
