Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
I work in a serial progression exploring different subject matter within a variety of media from an intuitive game plan.
I have made paintings for a number of years and recently have also taken up making sculpture with a chainsaw, working on felled trees from my property up in Ashfield, MA.
I like this approach to making sculpture, it’s fun (if not somewhat dangerous) and offers direct, raw and visceral results. I add paint to the work contemporizing it with a bright and expressionist palette .
The subject matter of the paintings I chose to exhibit is derived from the sculptures I made. In these compositions I am looking to use the 3D subject matter to address 2D or painterly concerns with ambiguities and juxtaposition of figurative and abstract elements to ask the philosophical question,”Is it this, that or both?”.
