Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
The images I use are primarily recognizable, whether human, other animals, the surrounding environment, or our own creations. Through the use of materials, imagery, and titles of varying origins and connotations, an awkwardness is created in which elements of both comedy and tragedy exist.
I am interested in and inspired by a diverse range of sources, including but not limited to, art history, political propaganda, and popular culture. These sources influence both the conceptual and formal aspects of my work. It is my aim to draw viewers into my work with something that may seem familiar at first. Upon closer inspection, the presence of satire and the absurd in the work confronts the viewers and subverts what, at first seemed familiar.
My current work explores issues surrounding modernity, hierarchy, and artifice. Referencing elements of human physiology, industrial design, and art history, I meticulously remake the familiar. The mixed-media works ioften depict a fragment of something larger, alluding to what is unseen. Through shifts in scale, material transformations, and subversion, the work seeks to disrupt viewers’ perceptions of the world that surrounds them.
