Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

My work is inspired by architecture, infrastructure, and the living things that inhabit them. I typically work at a smaller scale, with inexpensive materials like wire, paper, spackle, and plastic. Decisions about shape and form become as much about dodging easy associations as embracing unexpected ones—the avoidance of simply recreating an architectural model, or a mid-century modernist sculpture. I’d like the experience of seeing my work to feel a bit like traveling to the edge of town, where infrastructure tapers into nature, and boundaries between buildings, plants, animals, and trash start to dissolve.
