Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

Textiles and interior spaces serve as carriers of both memories and forgotten things, connected to desire and imagination. My sculptures are made from found and collected fabrics and objects. The way these materials are arranged reflects different personal backgrounds and social environments, highlighting how people relate to textiles in various ways. As a result, the sculptures become both a setting and a stage where themes of utilization and historical context are revealed.

In my work, I focus on how the poetic quality of objects extends into the poetry of interior spaces and inner life. This idea is similar to a small box (coffret), where memory becomes a physical landscape, and hidden or submerged memories are layered and condensed over time, opening up toward a new beginning or morning.
