Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

Yuli explores how belief, anxiety, and the longing for absolutes persist in a demythologized contemporary society. Though she does not follow any specific faith, she approaches remnants of belief as both a form of play and a quiet ritual. Her sculptural works explore the tension between protection and vulnerability, fear and comfort, sacredness and mundanity. The resulting objects often appear as ambiguous forms—part relic, part toy, part shrine—inhabiting the liminal space between anxiety and solace. Through this practice, she aims to sensorially examine how universal emotions emerge from personal experience and resonate within a shared cultural landscape.
