Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
The focus of my artwork as always been the fragility of human body.
Aging only reinforces and validates the importance of this preoccupation. The body is what we always have, what we experience the world with and through and it is a very unstable relationship. However, the fragile body, it is a constant reminder of time , changes and limitations.
The images of body parts and their fragmented repetitions appear as my core visual vocabulary. I usually depict them on the surface antique laced linens as a homage to the cultural past and social norms. However, there is tension between naked vulnerable, often erotically charged imagery and the old fashioned, traditional and domestic craft of the lace . I am drawn to the use of found objects in my art practice in order to evoke broader visual and emotional associations as well as past energies and memories. This dialog between past and present reflects my interest in the clashing of moral standards and realities. How is past remembered and shown ?
These tensions often lead to conflicts, trauma and abuse. I like investigating and depicting that tension as a means for reflection, self healing and perhaps even a warning. My hope for my artwork is that it be reflective and restorative but also reality based and raw.
