Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Samuelle Grande paints the inevitable: the highs and lows, romance, lust, loneliness, joy, embarrassment, anger, tenderness, ugliness, and beauty. Rendered wet-on-wet in loose brushwork and drips, she overlaps personal narratives with imagined landscapes and symbols through colour. Figures urge themselves towards abstraction, but invariably leave a trace of their presence. For Grande, painting is a form of haptic knowledge. She paints what her body remembers and imagines.
