Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Forming a closer relationship with my land and indigenous textiles of Guatemala, my paintings develop a unique language through tactility, dimensional structures, and the spirit of color. My studio practice is a meditative ritual, with drawing serving as the blueprint, deeply intertwined with the spirituality of creation.
I begin by drawing rectangular, high-rise pillars that evoke ancient temples. Each drawing has its skeletal foundation. I combine and layer these fractal elements to create a more dimensional space, with the composition forming a rhythmic pattern. These formations create a fortress-like realm, like spiritual entities, evoking a sense of mystery through the act of drawing. I use color as a layered skin to direct each line, create harmony, and empower the structural surface. Integrating drawing and exposing it within the painting, the surface becomes tectonic, providing a conscious gateway where the viewer can inhibit.
