Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

I draw upon elements of the natural world, mirroring human experience in the helical processes of growth, from the vast outer space to the infinitesimal world of atoms. Through the abstraction of the human figure, my work embodies fascination with symbolism, myth, nature, theosophy, and philosophy. These influences explore themes encompassing impermanence, immortality, and the interplay between the outer and inner realms. Essential sources of illumination, such as the sun or moon, hold pivotal roles within my art. Motifs and symbols conceal narratives rooted in myths and metaphysical ideals, crafting an illusory realm through symbols, backgrounds, and vibrant central forms. My work starts with daily meditational automatic drawings, and from that I develop intentionally composed images for bigger scale paintings. Currently combining acrylic and oil for a diffused, airy visual.
