Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

These names aren’t meant as an exhaustive list of lives taken suddenly, in the act black, but rather ones I remember during my lifetime. Each one is a person, memorialized through culture in music and art. The work I make explores the possibilities in between, in between breaths, in between blackness, in betweenness. What does it mean to just… be? Through acts of leisure in the form of collage sketches, I create paintings bridging channels of blackness and American culture.
