Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Through the lens of fiction I invent new worlds around a story rooted in the personal. My figures struggle to exist and conform into these worlds. I’m always negotiating the relationship between the figure and its surrounding environment as a way to explore states of nervousness and uncertainty while exploring the inherent psychological exposure of the act of painting. I question why certain stories are repeated culturally and consider ways in which repeated stories influence reality. Materially, I’m curious about composition, how line functions and how each mark works together to inform narrative and emotion. Ultimately my practice considers how identity forms out of absence and how personal mythologies intersect with broader storytelling traditions.
