Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
My artistic practice is deeply rooted in the exploration of daily life, flavored by the pervasive influences of (self) surveillance and performance. Traversing media including drawing, painting, artist books, and textiles, I integrate original and found language, including social media vernacular, into layers of associative imagery. Rooted in writing, poetry, and observation, I comb through and combine an archive of sketches, nostalgic imagery, overheard conversations, authored and found writing, daydreams, prosaic still lives and portraiture, self-help mythologies and screenshots.
Play, intuition, and mistakes are essential components of my practice, and I leave evidence of thinking-through-making through the scratched out or partially erased. In recent years, I have begun using quilting, appliqué, and embroidery to solidify ephemeral moments and to slow the thinking-through-making process, and to digest and repurpose source materials. The tension between legibility and illegibility serves as techniques and themes. Haptic expression of fleeting thoughts, apologies, and questions foreground flexibility, the unconscious, and the unknown in my work.
