Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
My work centers upon themes of navigating boundaries: a focal point of tension, transition, and the unknown. With this tension in mind, I compose work and spaces made of multiple sculptural objects activated by questioning, wonder, and personal reflection. I use these objects to piece together scenarios, thoughts, or questions I am wrestling with, and sometimes quietly walking with, in an attempt to come closer to some sort of understanding or resolve.
Through the process of creating these objects from reclaimed materials such as lumber, rope, brick, and latex house paint I aim to reveal the unrefined qualities of these chosen materials and sculptural objects illuminating the deeper, and often symbolic, meaning that can be found in forgotten or cast-aside items.
Working in a sculptural format of a stage set, I consciously focus on each element and how its placement informs the others alongside it. In turn, creating a visual and psychological experience to support the narrative I am choosing to communicate, to move a bit further in the process of knowing something of what is unknown.
