Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
In my practice I’m concerned with the dredging of memory and imagination to accumulate a constellation of signs, symbols, and words with which to develop paintings, drawings, objects, and installations. This vocabulary is intermixed with a critical, awkward relationship with the history and weight of the medium of painting, attempting to draw out a line between personal meaning and reflections on art’s vast communal index.
A balance is at work, within which I am interested in working both backwards and forwards, doing and undoing. This dynamic is explored as much in the material choices I make, opting to elevate the unfinished, lo-fi, aged, or abject, as with the pictorial and drawn. I try to draw on imagery pulled from my own head, at a removal from direct observation, and attempting to refuse the constant flows of online imagery that proliferate unceasingly. I utilise painting and drawing as a means to platform an alternative space, one that is not always deliberate, predictable, or reliable.
