Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
My recent work includes sculptures made from combinations of wood, wire, and textile remnants collected from my fashion design practice. Each piece incorporates multiple techniques: stitching, stuffing, cutting, weaving. Sometimes the pieces are slathered with paint. The abstract results can be touched, held, worn, rearranged.
I grew up between the U.S. and Taiwan. Both and neither are home, so I’m always observing local visual language signifying belonging or foreign-ness. How do I want to fit in, how do I want to stand out? I’m curious about the performance of everyday life. What does self-presentation look like while navigating different social roles and community relationships?
