Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
For more than a decade I have been experimenting with landscape painting. Landscape, as a genre, is changing now as humans are forced to adapt to climate change. We don’t see the earth the same way anymore. Our species is shifting gears to survive and hopefully alter our unsustainable trajectory. Harbingers of doom abound. My pictures are meant to be beautiful, but also disturbing in their lack of human presence. It’s as if in my worlds, it’s not clear when we are looking at or even if it is the earth. The distinct possibility that life will ultimately not be sustainable on this planet is a reality we are beginning to calculate for. I manipulate that psychology in my paintings to invite different ways of seeing ecosystems and a more expansive understanding of how our species is just one small element in a fabulously complex matrix of connections.
