Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

James Patrick Horner
Scarsdale NY US
Updated: 2025-11-24 21:51:23

STATEMENT OF WORK

Based in New York, James Horner is a queer chronicler who educates the public and diverts discrimination from his LGBTQ+ tribe. Influenced by a father who was a psychiatrist, his tales reflect the environmental psychology of the queer community, such as social settings and natural environments. Horner fixes on ordinary queer folk, their issues, and icons that have fought for the community.

Trying-on different mediums, Horner focuses on painting, but he also experiments with printing, sculpture, public art, and zines. In his revelations, a strong line guides the figures which can be muscular, abstract, grotesque, and staged in intimate settings – imploring viewers to cherish seemingly mundane moments with their loved ones.
