Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
I am a multidisciplinary artist working in mixed media and sound. My work explores notions of masculinity, introspection, and online aesthetics. By utilizing both online and personal imagery, my practice reflects on the collective cisgender Black male psyche and how it manifests through various acts and archetypes. Operating from this positionality, I draw on personal and pop cultural references, analyzing them to unpack both the conscious and unconscious characteristics of myself, as well as those of friends, family, and cultural figures, through psychological and existential lenses. I explore these themes through collage, painting, drawing, and assemblage, in an effort to explore shadow work.
In addition to my 2D works, my sound practice seeks to curate, retrace, and contextualize sounds from my adolescence, juxtaposing them with the current sounds and genres I am engaging in. My practice incorporates sampling, musical curation, and DJing techniques to create these soundscapes. My sonic palette draws from music linked to crucial identity-forming memories in my life, spanning genres such as hip-hop, reggae, soul, calypso, left-field house, and soca. Additionally, I use samples from pre-existing songs and sounds to further explore language and its multiplicity, as well as the sonic portals created through my orchestration.
