The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Moloney's recent paintings are meditations on absorption and daydreaming. Enigmatic scenarios are constructed from layers of personal and historical references and allusions. What emerges is dreamlike and kaleidoscopic. Volcanoes, figures, castles, churches, treetops and boats interweave and dissolve into one another. Each incongruous scene bounds together the mundane with the resplendent through a range of fade outs, glimpses and vignettes. Absorbed in their thoughts, the unperturbed protagonists of these paintings appear adrift in their surroundings. The factual and the fictional, the fantastical and the everyday, emerge as fragments that solidify into the painting’s surface. For more see Moloney’s Instagram: @donal_moloney_art
