Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Recently, I began creating small-scale ceramic works that respond to the Ukraine War. There are chess sets, tanks, burned-out buildings, jets, and now a series of chairs, tables, and buildings. There seems to be a connection and link from the global confrontations to the personal realizations and feelings of isolation, loneliness, and, with "Widow's Walk," possible hope.
My earlier statement: Colorful, clumsy, cheerful, sometimes hanging on, unbalanced, these works hold together by proximity and sheer energy. The works don't struggle for balance, they climb on one another and aren't holding their breaths. A combination of abstract organic and whacky geometric, the shapes are attracted to one another. Colors are bright. Purposefully matte with touches of gloss, the objects don't bounce back the sun and are approachable, friendly, and a welcome presence.
