Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

I never had tears in my life because I have Familial Dysautonomia (FD). So, my pictures tell how I feel. They become a part of me. My art is the way people get to know me. People tell me my art makes them happy. I love making people happy.  Real courage is - you follow your heart, whatever path you take. Art is my life. Art gives me lots of courage and makes me happy to be who I am.

I love colors. I love mixing colors – it makes me who I am. I know my work is finished when the colors get along. Sometimes it seems like my drawings just came out - out of nowhere. Other times, I like to make pictures that come from my imagination. And sometimes my paintings are about reality, important things, or just everyday things.
