Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Esme’s sculptures are recognizable as objects that appear within domestic spaces. She thinks about everyday objects that correspond to rituals, regiments, and time. A sink for brushing your teeth in the morning, and a different sink for washing your dishes in the evening. A mattress for sleeping on at night, and a couch for relaxing on during the day. Her work reveals how many of these rituals are imposed on us by societal and architectural organization. Esme is curious how we would organize and repattern our lives without the interruption of architectural boundaries. She aims to create spaces and objects that draw attention to possibilities of living that are invented by the individual. By making simple objects and modular spaces, one is able to utilize design in ways that are natural to oneself.
Esme sculptures consist of legible, and mostly found, materials such as wood, concrete, and metal.
