Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
My paintings are a collection of mise-en-scènes, tableaus, sets, stages. My lexicon of images grows from an affinity for conceptual models of the visual world. They derive from a disparate range of sources, including historical references, personal ephemera, and passing encounters on the street. I’m interested in the fixation and distrust we have towards mimetic representation. How does the image come about? I’m influenced by early modern pre-cinematic devices, including magic lanterns and panoramas, and I also look toward primordial myths of shadows in caves and reflections in water. I see painting as a way of articulating the unnameable charge I perceive in the phantasmagoria of the built environment.
