Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Zoë Argires is a Greek-American painter based in Brooklyn, NY and Lancaster, PA.
Argires' work is influenced by her immediate surroundings - the striking contrast between rural Pennsylvania where she teaches yoga and works seasonally on her family's lavender farm, and the urban landscape of New York City where she works as a studio assistant to painter Chris Martin, and paints in her own studio in Ridgewood.
Recurring symbols of the horizon line, animals, barns, and celestial bodies regularly populate Argires' paintings, as well as references to pop art and religious iconography.
