Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

Elemental forces and agents of transmogrification populate the abstract images I create. Many of the paintings contain forms suggestive of a living entity, but remain unrecognizable. In my process, I am toeing the line between control and spontaneity; engaging in play, improvisation, invention, and transformation as I work, and the works develop. My hope is that the intensity of the color palette, along with the varied surface textures create intimate worlds rich with imaginative possibilities and visual discovery for the viewer. Rather than create art that is a crystalline distillation of ideas developed over time, I want work that shows the development in process. A searching journey without a cut path.
There are no right answers, only thoughts. And thoughts are things.
