Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

I'm new to art. I've never been featured in any gallery. I have no exhibition experience and really do this as a passion. A hobby to wish to have dialogue with the public. Who can absorb and add to the pieces I create through discourse whether positive or negative feedback. I have so many conversations I want to have with the people who consume art. I want to use multiple mediums to have this discussion. Paint via abstract expressionism, digital art via Afrofuturism/Afrosurrealism like my Egyptian predecessors. Installation art, ceramics, rug making, textiles. I have a passion to create. And I have a passion to use multiple mediums. I just need the help to actualize my ideas and do it at the highest level. I have soo many sources of inspiration from Basquiat to Malevich, to DuChamp, Abdoulaye Konaté, Virgil Abloh and Picasso. I'm interested in Dada for its obsurdity, surrealism for it trippiness, suprematism and minimalism for their simple yet complex trains of thought, conceptual art for art without meaning is just decoration and abstract expressionism for its pure evocation of "the self". If given the chance to showcase my art at white columns I hope to express myself to the fullest extent and show the gallery taking a shot on me that I'm an artist very rare in an ocean of the consumption of art.
