Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
I am fascinated by the western landscape, its mythology of transcendence, openness, and expansion.
In researching certain sites of interest, there are diversions, many drawings, and wrong turns.
I am compelled to make paintings of these places, paintings that resonate in the mind and require some time to reveal their effect.
Though often inspired by a specific place, I have found no shortcuts in making a good painting. If things go well, the painting will develop a mind of its own and assert its will beyond what feels comfortable, until it looks unfamiliar to me. It is this beguiling quality that interests me most about painting: its ability to shift relentlessly, outlasting our desire to control and define.
