Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
In my process, I invent characters and place them in complex narratives. Through the characters, I transport myself into multiple personalities, timelines, and situations. Fracturing into different personas grants me the opportunity to gain better clarity of the world I live in.
I use my own personal experiences as a starting point, which I then distort and re-imagine using references ranging from art history and literature to pop culture and contemporary media, such as Neoclassical art, kitsch, and kawaii.
The situations my characters find themselves in are often unsettling, but are never too serious or realistic. Incorporating humor and a sense of play prevents the work from getting overly sentimental and helps keep the distance necessary in critically approaching the work.
