Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
My practice is an inquiry navigating intersections between art, craft and
design. I use analogue processes and a range of materials to to create
objects that defy easy categorization. Through material exploration, I
celebrate the handmade as a counterpoint to the chaos of the world.
The objects I create reflect the process of their making and feature layered
surfaces that are modeled, carved, collaged, stamped, felted, stained,
abraded, leafed and painted. I seek out the alchemy that can occur when
materials and processes converge.
Curiosity is at the heart of my work. I avoid developing a linear construction
of meaning, and draw upon sources such as observations from walks in
urban and natural environments and music to inform my decision-making.
I aim to create a sense of odd beauty, where the familiar is made strange
and the unexpected becomes compelling. I am engaged with a remixing of
processes and approaches, as well as issues of restoration, transformation,
memory and the negotiation of boundaries.
