Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Through the reconfiguration of everyday domestic materials such as dishtowels, fabric, and utensils, I think of the complexities of home: a space of comfort, a container of memory, and an entrapping myth.
A specific crochet stitch, gestures from family photographs, the sound of a conversation from home movies, a repeating calico pattern on my mother's quilts, or the fabric of my grandmother's curtains, all serve as raw materials in my practice.
I consider the vacancies and remnants of both my Mexican and Irish-American lineages through utilizing materials that were owned by, or emblematic of, family members. Navigating personal memory has been a conduit to exorcising loss, the interconnectivity of time, the political experiences of home, and how personal memories are interwoven with collective occurrences.
It is imperative that multiple timelines exist in these works through employing found objects of varying age; pointing to the ever-present past, and its way of inhabiting — and haunting — the future.
