Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
My paintings and drawings are typically non-narrative and function as compositions of forms and colour, amalgams of things seen, imagined, or a combination of the actual and notional. I combine structured elements with gestural expression. The tension in each piece occurs from combining structural formalist elements, like the grid, with impulsive inventions. The original inspirations for my works include found images and photographs from newspapers, the Internet, and my own snapshots and drawings combined with these other sources. Such images might include aerial views of submerged landscapes, figures in landscapes, buildings in mid-construction or in a state of disrepair. In the studio process of painting, I manipulate these images in ways that both evoke and subvert recognition and play on voyeuristic curiosity.
