Artist Registry
The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK
Upstate New York. The Fonda Speedway. Stewart’s Shops.
At 10 my father said it was time I had my own toolbox. A hammer, craftsman wrench set, needle nose pliers, screwdrivers, and a hatchet that Christmas.
Chores. Forts. Girlfriends. Bikes. Virginity. Spark plugs. Basements. The woods.
Summer after 8th grade. It was almost dusk walking over to my neighbors house to see if she could join us playing capture the flag. She had just gotten out of the shower and was in the window. Childhood games were different after that.
Skin. The surface of unused metal. Oil. Morning wood. Crop. Downblouse. Crop. Crop tighter. 4x4’s. Hardware. First time. 3:00AM. Scared. Sunrise. Reverb.
Fast-forward. Permission. Repeat.
The new. Objectifying objects at The Home Depot. The perfect visual example. The finest lines, machining and shape. Lustful proportions. Reflection. A father. The rest are less than. A holy icon. Symbols.
Shovel. Same act and strength needed to both plant a tree and bury a body. Tension. Salt of the earth.
Fetishizing youth. Peach fuzz. Adolescence. Brushing against a stranger in the grocery store. Advertising and the exploration of masculinity. Fencepost. Flowers. Voyeurism. Ice cold water and a sundress.
