Artist Registry

The White Columns Curated Artist Registry is an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

STATEMENT OF WORK

The objects that surround me occupy a position of abstract autonomous plural thought that have an interest in the concept of what a border is. The practice is interested in what an object's potential is or what it could be. How an object communicates, plays, discusses, learns, and becomes active in space.

The objects intersect where the tactile form connects with space, where the formalities of matter change and it becomes something else. It is within these gaps, where the sculpture tries to find itself, when gravity, weight and heat polarise fields of vision to inform, as well question what it is or could be when left all on its own. The objects observe each other, they flirt with the organic and inorganic to investigate structural limits through the effects of time, temperature and balance.
